40 kilometers south of Salzburg, under the small Austrian town of Verfen, there are the largest ice caves in the world "Eisriesenwelt" - the World of the Ice Giants.
A 42-kilometer system of limestone-ice passages and premises, and these 42 kilometers are only the part studied so far!
The caves were opened only a little more than a hundred years ago, the cable car was brought up - about fifty years ago, and tourists are allowed at all only the last couple of decades.
At the same time, visitors are allowed to explore only the first kilometer of the caves from the entrance and only as part of an organized group with a local guide.
However, this is quite enough to say on the way out: “Wow!!” and realize that life was a success!
