St. Sebastian's Church

Linzer Gasse 41, Salzburg, Austria

Description:

St. Sebastian’s Church is one of the many Baroque churches in Salzburg.

The church was built in 1749-1753. In 1818, the church was destroyed by a fire, but three years later it was completely restored.

Unfortunately, only a few parts have survived, reminding tourists of the beautiful era: in particular, these are the old doors and entrance, as well as the statue of the Madonna of 1610, installed on the altar. In addition, the chapel of St. Philip Neri, located on the road to the cemetery, which is also a local attraction, and the mausoleum of Wolf Dietrich, the famous Austrian archbishop, who created many churches and monasteries in Austria, in particular, Salzburg Cathedral, are interesting to see.
