Thomas Bernhard is the greatest Austrian novelist and playwright. In 1965, he purchased a small estate in Gmunden County. It took about fifteen years to restore and put in order the former peasant courtyard. One way or another, all the literary work of Thomas Bernhard was closely associated with this residence. Today, the estate is a house-museum, in which the entire furnishing and interior have remained unchanged.
