Museum of Modern Art Rupertinum
Wiener Philharmonikergasse 9, Salzburg, Austria
About the company:
In Austria, in the historic district of the city, is the Museum of Modern Art Rupertinum. The building of the museum was built in 1663 between the monastery and Franciscan churches. Initially, it served as a seminary for the archdiocese for many centuries.
In 1974, the museum building served as a hostel for students. But in 1983, Rupertinum was dedicated to the public as a contemporary art museum, home to an interesting collection of graphic art. The exhibition area of the museum occupies about 700 square meters. The rooms of the building were often restored, and in 1999, after final repairs, the premises were fully adapted for collections of graphics and photography.
The museum hosts temporary and permanent exhibitions of international importance, which are constantly updated and supplemented. The themes of the exhibitions cover various fields of art. The main functions of the museum are the formation of a link between the viewer and the artist, the connection between Austrian and international art.
