Gabala and Shemakha – a trip to Azerbaijan Switzerland

A trip along the mountain serpentine through a fantastically beautiful pass, dense forests, with their crowns forming a tunnel above the road, a cascade of waterfalls, a peaceful lake surface, a walk on a catamaran, a visit to the largest and most beautiful amusement park in the country, as well as relaxation in the spa area of a fashionable hotel and a mountain cable car - this is all that awaits you when choosing this excursion.

Mountain serpentine.

The beginning of our journey will lie, through the ancient capital of Azerbaijan, the ancient city of Shemakha (remember the famous lines: “I am a maiden, Shamakhi Queen?”), as well as the beautiful Shamakhi Pass. We will make a stop on the way, so that you can admire the view and take a photo session (at your request, there we can have breakfast). Also here you can buy inexpensive, mountain honey, which is sold directly from the hives.

Fairy forest and waterfall "7 beauties".

Then we will pass through a dense forest, the crowns of which will intertwine directly above our road. We will make a stop, and you can walk through this fabulous forest. Then we will drive to the highest cascade of waterfalls in the country. To the 7 Beauties waterfalls. You will find an interesting climb on steep stairs and narrow bridges. At the very top we will have an atmospheric observation deck. Going back down, we will have lunch in a restaurant by a mountain river, under the noise of waterfalls.

Gabaland, Qafqaz Resort and Mountain Cable Car.

Finally, we will arrive in the city, which was the capital of ancient Albania for 900 years, the mountain resort, rightfully called “Azerbaijani Switzerland” – in the city of Gabala. After driving through the colorful streets of the city, we will visit the country's largest amusement park "Gabaland". Along with a variety of attractions, skating rink, karting and a large (but not deep) pool with slides, this complex is distinguished by a very beautiful park area with many trees, sculptures and artificial lakes. Further, depending on your desire and the time spent in Gabaland (and if you have children there you can “hang” for a long time), we will visit the SPA complex (pools, Turkish bath, saunas, massage, etc.) of the Qafqaz Resort hotel, as well as the mountain cable car of the Tufandag hotel.

Lake Nohur and a walk on a catamaran

In the evening we will gather on the way back and visit the beautiful lake Nohur. You can ride on the lake on a catamaran, as well as ride a horse on the shore. Then we are again waiting for a trip across the pass, where we will stop and have dinner in one of the restaurants, admiring the view of the sun setting behind the mountains. After dark, we will return to Baku.

Special conditions:

At your request, the tour can take 2 days and last to the ancient city of Sheki, with a visit to the palace of Sheki Khans, Caravanserai and the ancient Albanian monastery. This will increase the cost of the excursion by 70% and have to book a hotel in Gabala for 1 night (instead of a hotel, I can help you book a cheaper apartment).
