Unforgettable tour "G. Aliyev Center, Museum of Contemporary Art"
Description:
The area of the building is 57,519 square meters. In the project of the building of the cultural center, almost no straight lines were used. The building itself in shape is a undulating aspiration upwards and a smooth merger with the earth. This structure represents not only the postmodern style of architecture, but also duration and infinity. The lines on the building symbolize the connection between the past and the future.
The main building of the center consists of three departments: the Heydar Aliyev Museum, exhibition halls and the Auditorium.
- On the first floor of the cultural center there is an exhibition called “Masterpieces of Azerbaijan”. Unique exhibits reflecting the history of the country and its cultural heritage are demonstrated here. The exhibition presents all periods of the history of Azerbaijan, exhibits related to various fields of its culture.
- On the second floor of the cultural center, within the framework of the Mini-Azerbaijan project, models of 45 historical and architectural buildings of Azerbaijan are exhibited, located both in Baku and in other regions of Azerbaijan.
- Located on the third floor, the exhibition hall “Welcome to Azerbaijan” is also aimed at promoting Azerbaijan. It shows the history, culture, art and nature of Azerbaijan. At the exhibition, visitors can see photos of attractions, natural and architectural monuments located in various regions of the country. For example, here you can see photos of such attractions as the Momine-Khatun Mausoleum in Nakhchivan, the church in the village of Kish, the Shirvanshahs Palace, Yanardag, etc.
- In another hall, located on the fourth floor, Azerbaijani culinary art is presented through photographs. It showcases the work of the famous American photographer Peter Lippmann, who lives and works in France. In the photos you can see such common dishes of national cuisine as pilaf, dolma, kuffta bozbash, churek and lavash, various sweets (bahlava, shekerbura) and even tea in a traditional glass of "armudu".
At the entrance to the museum, on the first floor of the building, there are cars used by Heydar Aliyev during his leadership of Azerbaijan from 1969 to 2003. During the creation of the museum, special attention was paid to the reflection of various periods of the history of Azerbaijan, the life and activities of Heydar Aliyev. In the three-storey building of the museum, Heydar Aliyev’s life path is presented using photo and video materials. The museum is distinguished both by its form and originality of content.
