Sightseeing tour of modern Baku
Description:
Introductory tour of the modern city with short stops near the main attractions (oil rockers, observation deck in the Nagorny Park, flame towers, cultural center named after G.Aliyev, passing the state flag square, embankment boulevard, Baku funicular)
Acquaintance with any city is most expedient to start with a survey and cognitive auto-excursion. This tour can be conducted both in the daytime and in the evening.
The cultural center named after Heydar Aliyev is perhaps one of the most striking buildings in Baku - the creation of a woman architect with a world name Zaha Hadid. From the site in front of the center named after G. Aliyev, three majestic glass skyscrapers in the form of flames are clearly visible. They can be seen from almost all the main points of the city. They look especially spectacular with the onset of darkness, the buildings shimmer and shimmer in different colors, demonstrating the play of fire on their LED surface. In one of these skyscrapers there is an excellent hotel, and if you are lucky enough to stay here, you will see an equally impressive and spectacular panorama opening from its solid window walls: this is the Baku Bay, the embankment (boulevard), the Old Fortress Town (Icheri Sheher), as well as new quarters.
However, to enjoy the Baku landscapes, it is not necessary to climb one of the "Towers of Fire". Right next to them is the observation deck of the Mountain Park.
The entire boulevard is clearly visible from the Mountain Park. On the right, a huge flag of the country flutters along the coast - the height of the flagpole is 194 m - this is the record holder of the Guinness Book of Records. It is already known to many fans of Eurovision 2011. Baku Crystal Hall, fascinating in the light of day, and especially at night, when the light panels turn on. It should be noted that we Baku residents do not skimp on the creation of external effects, and these costs are justified - the spectacle of the evening Baku is truly unforgettable.
Well, on the left side - the semicircle of the Baku Bay, along which stretches another candidate for record holders - almost 10-kilometer embankment boulevard. The luxurious wide walking area is immersed in greenery, and among these flower gardens fountains. Plus interesting buildings and structures: from the parachute tower of the 1930s and the complex "Small Venice" with canals and gondolas to the International Mugham Center (Azerbaijani traditional music) and the Carpet Museum.
