What awaits you?
The main points of the program are acquaintance with the fortification towers of the Middle Ages in Gala and Myardakan, visiting sacred places with unusual rituals (Childag), the Ateshgah temple, walking along the unique “burning mountain” Yanardag and practical acquaintance with the beliefs of the Zoroastrians. You will find dancing flames on the slopes of Yanardaga, ancient walls of Ateshgah and truly unforgettable experiences!
Ateshgah: sacred place of fire worshipers
The tour will begin in the small village of Surakhany. You will learn how oil production began in these places, take photos of oil rigs and explore Ateshgah – an ancient Zoroastrian temple, which locals call the temple of eternal fire. Ateshgah is a shrine of fire worshippers of Zoroastrians, but at one time adherents of other religions prayed here, and there were periods when the building was completely empty.
Now it is a large museum complex, the walls of which preserve the wisdom of the ancients.
It seems that the erased stone slabs still keep the prints of the kneeling pilgrims from India and Persia. Who once flocked here along the Great Silk Road.
Mount of fire Yanardag.
Just imagine: you are standing on a huge mountain, the slopes of which are covered with wild dancing flames, beating directly from the ground! Fascinating?
You can feel the whole range of emotions if you climb the Yanardag.
Due to its unique geological structure, its slopes are constantly engulfed in flames, and neither wind nor rain can extinguish it. You will hear mesmerizing legends that explain the origin of the flame in their own way, learn why the cave on the top has the demonic name “Wolf’s Gate” and can take stunningly beautiful photos against the background of the pillars of fire.
The visit of Emperor Alexander 3 to the Black City.
We will follow the route along which the Great Emperor Alexander 3 passed in 1888.
On the second day of his visit, he visited the Black City and the Nobel Brothers businesses, where he strolled unguarded.
On the third day, the emperor went to the place of oil production, met with major oil producers, who installed two tents for the arrival of the tsar: in the classical European and Oriental style. Nearby, oil fountains were installed, which beat directly from drilling wells. We will visit the village of Balakhany, where the first oil refinery in the Caucasus was built, and where the above events took place. You can also see the oil rigs. You can stop here and come to one of them. Touch a drop of oil falling from the tap - tell your friends that you were holding real "black gold" in your hands! As you know, Alexander 3 was unpretentious in food. You will find out what the king revered during the ceremonial dinner, if you wish, I will recommend where to buy dishes and pastries from the “royal” menu.
Fairy tales and Mardakian's story.
Mardakian is an interesting tale. You never know what's ahead of you, but I'm sure it'll end well. We will go to a small village located near Baku. This is a real paradise, where at one time the Russian poet Yesenin found peace of mind. Every year thousands of ordinary people come here to feel the magical power of local shrines, breathe in the cleanest air, wander under the crowns of relict trees and recharge their vital energy.
You are waiting for a walk in Yesenin places.
The poet wanted to go to Persia, but the way there was closed for him. Friends brought him to Mardakyan, to which he immediately attached everything to his soul. Here he wrote several of his famous poems. Then you will be immersed in history, you will learn how Azerbaijanis care about the holy places. At the shrine of Pir Hasan come to venerate the memory of the saints, to relax the soul. There is a belief among the people that visiting the sanctuary relieves mental torment.
The walk along Myardyakan will continue in the crystal mosque Mir-Movsum aga, where you will visit the Azerbaijani healer. It fascinates with its luxurious decoration and positive energy.
During her visit, I will tell some amazing stories about how suddenly the power of this man appeared, for what actions his name forever entered the history of the country. You will learn and see the techniques of the ancient healers of Chapcha, see how the ancient ritual of Childag is carried out, which relieves diseases and stress.
Secrets of the old fortresses of Gala and Myardyakan.
Just imagine that the ancient fortresses of the 12th and 13th centuries have survived to this day.
During the tour, I will tell you about the secrets of the castles in Gala and Mardakyan, how the people who remained in it managed to keep the siege for months.
A separate story is about a man who, at the call of his heart, became the Guardian of the fortress in our time.

Lunch will be held in one of the fishing villages, where the main trump cards of this place are kebab with spices and dishes in pomegranate and kizyl sauce with barberry and tomatoes from the gifts of the Caspian Sea - the best Caspian fish (bersh, omul, sturgeon, beluga).
