The museum was founded in 2008 on the site of archaeological excavations in the village of the same name and is dedicated to the history of the Absheron Peninsula. Here you can see how the Azerbaijanis lived, what they ate and drank and how they farmed in the period from the XVI to the XIX centuries. On the territory of the museum with an area of 1.2 hectares there are ancient dwellings - portable tents made of animal skins and, later replaced by them, stone and clay-straw houses with domes, an ancient forge, a market, pottery workshops, a bakery, a thresher and other interesting buildings of the 16-19th century.
In the final part, tourists will see the former summer residence of the millionaire oil producer of the late 19th and early 20th centuries Murtuza Mukhtarov. The residence with its original system of communicating wells and pools, unique architectural structures, exotic plants and animals is known among the Mardakans.
Arboretum is a botanical garden with rare breeds of plants, on the territory of which there is a villa of millionaire M. Mukhtarov (1890), as well as a museum. This is where our tour ends and we return to the hotel.
