Description:
The magic of evening Baku.
Tongues of flame, lights of electric lamps, live reflections on sea waves. It seems that there is never absolute darkness in Baku, even at night there is light. On this sightseeing tour you will walk through the evening and night city, see stunning illuminations and learn why the capital of sunny Azerbaijan is called the “land of fire”.
Who is this tour for?
A tour of the evening and night Baku is suitable for everyone, but especially for lovers of illumination and evening romance!
Even if you have repeatedly visited the capital of Azerbaijan, have already visited sights and even consider yourself an expert, this walk will fascinate you. The evening city is not at all like a day town, as if for the first time you will pass along Primorsky Boulevard, in a new light you will see ancient buildings and the latest buildings. Well, the guests of Baku will be amazed and impressed by such an unusual walk!
What awaits you?
Night and night the lights are brighter. You will find stunning cityscapes and amazing stories about the “land of lights”. You will see flames and a panorama of the evening and night city burning with lights, light-filled boulevards and illuminating palaces, flame towers and a huge Ferris wheel.
Labyrinths of streets and Old Town.
The tour will begin with a short walk through old Baku. You will walk through the winding labyrinths of Baku streets, see the same street “hell”, where once filmed an unforgettable episode from the film “Diamond Hand”, look into the cozy courtyards, where in the evenings locals gather to exchange news and play board games. Gradually you will approach the walls of the city fortress, in the evening they look especially majestic and mysterious! You will admire how the rays of the sunset flame on the walls of the wonderful Palace of Shirvanshahs, how the shadows of caravanserais and medieval bath complexes lengthen.
New Baku and the observation deck: lights as in the palm of your hand.
A fascinating story about New Baku you will hear on the way to the buildings of our time, more precisely, the era of the oil boom (starting from the 19th century). Which oil tycoons were involved in the construction and still sponsor the construction of colossal new facilities? Who designed unique buildings and created artful lighting?
You will get the answer to these and other questions during your walk and see with your own eyes how amazing the buildings of New Baku look at dusk, decorated with magical illumination lights. Gradually you will come to the mountain park. From its observation deck you will open a really mind-blowing and unforgettable picture - a bird's-eye view of the night city. Here is a unique building of the oil company, aimed at the very height of the darkening sky, and very close to the famous center of Heydar Aliyev. Its piercing red lighting looks especially fascinating and mystical.
Flame Towers, Flag Square, Port of Baku
To the highest flame towers you will approach almost closely. Day and night they can be seen from afar, but near especially striking monumentality and grace of these amazing architectural structures. You will find out how much effort and labor was invested in the construction and appreciate all the splendor of this capital wonder. On the grand Flag Square, life boils at any time of the day or night, here you can take wonderful photos. You will also see a huge Ferris wheel and learn who and whose money built a unique residential complex Port Baku, reminiscent of a giant staircase to the sky.
If the weather is favorable to us, by the end of the tour we will go for a walk in the Caspian Sea on a pleasure steamer. If the weather in the city of winds does not allow us to do this, we will go to one of the highest points of our city - the television tower, where we can drink fragrant Azerbaijani tea with the addition of thyme and / or other herbs with sweets (shakerbur, baklava, mutaki, jam). During the leisurely tea ceremony, I will introduce you to the tea traditions of our people. You will learn how the fate of Azerbaijanis in love depends on tea.
