The Sergey Kirov Mountain Park, located in the heart of Baku, is considered one of the most beautiful parks of the capital, as well as a favorite holiday destination for local residents. The park is unique in that from its territory you can see the panorama of the city, which explains the name of the park - Nagorny. Another name of the park, which took root in the people, is the observation deck.
The park was built by L. Ilyin from the limestone of Baku quarries of various colors on the site of an old Muslim cemetery. He connected alleys and stairs in such a way as to fully reveal the panorama of the Baku Bay. Also in the park there is an open theater, a reading room, a cafe and other architectural monuments.
In the Nagorny Park there is also an alley of Shahids, where the victims of “Black January” who died in the Karabakh war are buried.
