About the company:
The National Museum of Art of Azerbaijan contains more than 17,000 exhibits in its storages and is the largest museum of works of art in the country. It was founded in 1936, in 1943 it was given the name of the famous Azerbaijani theater Rustam Mustafayev, and in 1951 the secretary of the Central Committee Mirjafar Bagirov granted the museum a historical luxury building of the XIX century, known in the city as the “Debur mansion”.
The building has a calm but unusual architecture designed by engineer von der None. Around at that time there were no other buildings that could dictate some form to the architect, so the further development of the street in turn was adjusted to the Deburovskiy mansion. The mansion is decorated with classical elements that give it solemnity.
After the collapse of the USSR, the museum received another building near the first. Now the museum has 60 rooms for exposition, where 3,000 exhibits can be exhibited simultaneously. The first building is dedicated to the work of Russian, European and Oriental artists. The second building consists entirely of the Azerbaijani exposition.
