Avali Anglican Church
Description:
The Anglican Church of Avali is one of two Catholic churches in Bahrain, the smaller of them and created almost in the same period as the Sacret Hert Church in Manama, in the late 30s of the twentieth century.
The Anglican Church of Avali is located in the north of the municipality of Avali, near the Christian school of St. Christopher, in the South Muhafaza. The building is owned by the Bahrain Oil Company. One of the distinctive features of the Avali Church is the original stained glass window above the altar. It is a copy of Hunt William Holman’s famous painting The Light of the World, both at St Paul’s Cathedral in London and at Oxford’s Keble College. The Catholic parish of Avali Church is dedicated to Our Lady of Visitation.
