Easter Monday

Description:

Easter Monday
Easter Monday is celebrated in memory of the first day after the resurrection of Christ. The Bible tells us that, having risen, Christ appeared unrecognized to his two sad disciples, sharing with them the way to the village of Emmaus, near Jerusalem, and the supper.

Its second name - Wet Monday (Wet Monday) - the holiday received for the fact that in the old days, Christian boys everywhere it was customary on this day during the festive festivities to pour the girls they liked with water from a bucket. Each time the action was noisy and very cheerful, despite the unexpected embarrassment.

The girls squealed and fought back, trying to dodge, but deep down they were glad to be wet, because staying dry on this day means not getting married this year. Moreover, the custom gave them the right to recoup: on all the other days of the week following Easter Monday, the girls could, in turn, douse the guys with impunity.
