Group walking tour of Antwerp

Description:

Group walking tour of Antwerp. Attractions within the historical center.

Antwerp is a city with a rich history. Under Charles V, it became the main trading city in Europe with a population of 100,000. Against the background of financial prosperity, there is a cultural boom, which is reflected in painting and architecture. In the XVI-XVII century, Peter Paul Rubens lived and worked in Antwerp and, as the Antwerp people say, Rubens’ hand is at everything. The 80-year war of the Netherlands with the Spaniards leads Antwerp into the shadows, and the city will never take its former position, but it is not that the last two centuries the city did not act. Antwerp is the diamond capital of the world and the second largest port in Europe.
