Rubens, Van Dyck and Jordaens, the three princes of Antwerp Baroque, will show you their skills in three artistic and architectural gems of the Baroque: the Jesuit Church, the House of Rubens and the House of the Burgomaster of Antwerp.
The church, which is also called Rubensovskaya, is perfect. The artist played an important role in the design of the facade and coronation of the tower. The Jesuits built this Baroque church between 1615 and 1621. The apse, the main altar, the chapel, numerous sculptures and wood carvings testify to the former splendor and richness. The still functioning mechanism above the main altar is authentic, the paintings can be swapped with its help and this spectacle is impressive.
In the beautiful patrician home where the burgomaster, miscenatus and Rubens friend Nicholas Rockcox lived, time seems to have stopped. The Roccox House Museum. You will be transported to the atmosphere of Rubens and his contemporaries.
