Bruges

Bruges - the pearl of Belgium

Description:

Bruges, or as it is also called “Northern Venice”, is located in the province of West Flanders. Canals stretch through the city with picturesque bridges thrown over them, entwined with ivy. Along these canals there are small houses, most of which were built in the Middle Ages. Bruges is also proud of its many churches and temples, among which the leading role belongs to the Basilica of the Holy Blood of Christ. This church got its name in honor of the relic stored here - the Holy Blood of Christ. In the Church of the Holy Virgin, located near the basilica, there is another relic of the city of Bruges - the image of the Madonna with the Child in the hands of the work of the great Michelangelo. The whole old town of Bruges is under UNESCO protection. Centuries of history provided the city with a large number of attractions. All the buildings in the city are unique.
