Bruges

Bruges - Northern Venice

Description:

Bruges is a city that has fully preserved its medieval appearance, where everything seemed to freeze 300 years ago, as if by the monovanizing of a magic wand.

There are about 10 thousand houses in the city, half of them are architectural monuments and the entire city center is listed as monuments of world culture and is protected by UNESCO.

This is a fairy tale city, washed by three canals connected with each other, and with small bridges thrown over them. This is why it is called the Venice of the North.

Bruges is also the place where the talented Flemish artist Jan Van Eyck worked in the 15th century, as well as Mamling and many other outstanding artists of the time, such as Van Hook, Qwelling, van Ost. Also in Bruges you can see the sculpture of the Virgin and Child, made by Michelangelo, which is the only sculpture taken from Italy during his lifetime.
