Minnewaterpark
Description:
The first mention of the ancient park of Minnevater, located in Bruges, dates back to 1580. The park was long used as a whitewashed meadow, after which it was divided into several parts, which fell into the private possession of nobles.
One of the owners built a neo-Gothic cathedral in the park with an adjacent luxurious garden. In 1969 the castle was partially destroyed. The new project of the park meant the creation of recreational areas for the residents of Bruges. The remains of the garden are well suited for this purpose. The park was renovated in 1979. Now residents and tourists are happy to attend the cacti festival and the World Parks Festival, which are held annually in Minnevater in spring and summer.
