Jules Otten Stadium

Bruiloftstraat, Gent, Belgium

Description:

Jules Otten Stadium, located in the Belgian city of Ghent, was inaugurated in 1920 by Prince Leopold. It was named after the founder of the football club “Gent” Jules Otten and is the home stadium for the club, where he conducts training and hosts rivals in the division.

The capacity of the stadium stands, protected by visors, is 12,919 seats. There are plans to demolish the stadium and build a residential quarter in its place. This decision is due to the fact that a new Artvelde stadium should be built for the club in the coming years. The issue has been pending since 2008, when its decision was postponed due to lack of funding.
