Museum of Modern Art
Citadelpark 0, 9000 Gent, Belgie
About the company:
Belgium’s first museum dedicated to contemporary art is housed in a building that once housed a casino. The museum absorbed works of new trends of minimalism, conceptualism, pop art and art povera.
Visiting this attraction, you will be able to observe the unique work of the leader of German postmodernism – the genius of Joseph Beuys. It will surprise you with lead font and watercolor drawings, in style reminiscent of primitive rock paintings. Luke Tuymans will take you to the age-old theme of evil and banality with his appeal to the ordinary desk lamp and gas chamber.
The avant-garde movement called Cobra will show you distorted figures of people and bright canvases with semi-abstractions. You can visit the room of a native of Ghent, Maurice Meterlinck, who became a Nobel Prize winner in literature and the author of a famous philosophical parable.
The Museum of Modern Art does not stand still. It is constantly updated and holds personal exhibitions, performances of young artists and international exchanges.
