River Nete

The river Nete, Belgium

Description:

The Nete River is a 76 km long Belgian river that carries its waters into the Rüpel River. It is formed at the confluence of two rivers: the Big Nete and the Small Nete. Nete flows through the ancient Belgian province of Antwerp, predominantly from north to west, having a steep curve at its beginning. The Nete River enters the water basin of the Atlantic Ocean.

At the source of the river there is an ancient Belgian town of Lear, which the residents themselves call “little lyric” for its coziness. In the city, tourists will be interested to see the ancient Zimmer Tower with an astronomical clock. On the embankment of the river, blocked in many places by small bridges, there are buildings of the XVII-XVIII centuries.
