Sightseeing tour of the territory of the Brest fortress

Description:

The defense of the Brest Fortress in June 1941 is one of the bright and at the same time tragic pages of the history of the Great Patriotic War, an example of courage and heroism. During the tour, I will acquaint you with the course of the defense of the fortress, tell you about the tragedy of people who, by the will of fate, met the war in its first seconds, you will learn about the fate of the families of the commanders of the Brest Fortress.

During the tour you will see the miraculously preserved Kholmsky Gate, St. Nicholas Garrison Church, built in 1876. It suffered so much during the war that they wanted to disassemble it, but still left it, including it in the memorial complex. The temple was completely restored in the early 2000s. You will also see the Eastern Fort, one of the strongest areas of defense. We will walk with you through the Ceremonial Square, approach the memorial plates, under which the remains of 1038 people rest. We will honor the memory of the dead with a minute of silence at the Eternal Flame.
