Monument to the 1000th Anniversary of Brest

Description:
The majestic monument, which is 15 meters high and made of granite and bronze, is a model of the city, expressed in the images of both historical characters (Prince Vladimir Vasilkovich, Grand Duke Vytovt of Lithuania, Nikolai Cherny, etc.), and generalized residents of the proud (Soldier, Mother, Chronicler). In 2011, the design of the monument was completed with a colorful fence in the Art Nouveau style.
On the circular bas-relief of the monument, 6 important historical periods for the city were expressed: the legend of the founding of Brest, its construction, the participation of the Berestians in the Battle of Grunwald, the publication of the Berestey Bible, the defense of the Brest fortress in 1941, space exploration.
The monument is crowned by the figure of an angel - the defender of Brest.
