The monument of the foundation of the city of Brest is a stone with the date of the first mention of the city in the chronicles.
The year 1019 is mentioned in the Tale of Bygone Years. But in the European chronicles there were mentions from 1017. The monument is located at the very intersection of Masherov Avenue and Lenin Street in front of the Museum "Saved Art Values".
