Komsomolskaya Street is not very long - 700 meters. It starts from Ordzhonikidze Street and ends at the base of the Freedom Square triangle. The beginning of the construction of the then Voznesenskaya Street refers to the middle of the XIX century. In the 20-30-ies of the XX century along the described intersection adorned restaurants, hotels, a couple of editions. Then there were residential houses and general education school A. Gorskaya. The wooden building of the school has not survived, modern houses have been built in its place.

During its history, the street has changed its name several times. So, the first and most favorite among the people is Voznesenskaya Street. During the period of Polish ownership from 1921 to 1939 it was called Stietzkiewicz Street. After the return of Soviet power, in the period from 1939 to 1941 it was called Komsomolskaya. During the fascist occupation, from 1941 to 1944, the street was called Bahnhofstrasse (translated from German – Railway). After the liberation of Brest and to this day, it again became Komsomolskaya.

Today there are trolleybuses on Komsomolskaya Street. If you still decide to walk along it, take your time, turn to Miscavige, drink water from a drinking fountain and just relax on a bench in the shade of chestnuts. Then, with new forces, walk the block to Pushkinskaya Street. Go on it to the left – you will get to the pedestrian street Sovietskaya, go to the right – you will see Lenin Square. We go on - shady boulevard - Gogol Street, it is very pleasant to walk along it, and you can see a lot of interesting things. And in the end – Freedom Square with a monument to the soldiers of the liberators.
