Minsk

Minsk is a city in which it is impossible not to fall in love!

Description:

During the tour, Minsk will open its face to you: wide avenues and cozy streets, a variety of architectural ensembles and parks. During its long history, the city was repeatedly destroyed, burned, but each time it was reborn and rebuilt. Today Minsk is a modern European city. It is rapidly developing and becoming more beautiful, combining the greatness of the heritage of antiquity and the innovative thought of modernity.

- Station square.

The station square is the face of the city, the place of meetings and wires. As a human face, it ages and changes with time and events. However, with talent and skill, architects breathe new life into it again and again. And today, when leaving one of the best railway stations in Europe, you can see the magnificent “city gates”, a spacious square and developed infrastructure. The modern building of the railway station organically fits into the ensemble of lush Stalinist classicism.

- Independence Square.

If road junctions are invented for unloading streets, then the squares are for “unloading” and resting people. One of them is Independence Square. Taking an honorable place in the city center, she gathered around her many attractions: the most beautiful church in Minsk and the oldest university, government buildings and the largest monument to Lenin in the post-Soviet space. The modern landscape was complemented by lawns of greenery and fountains, cozy benches and glass domes of a three-storey underground city - the shopping center "Capital".

- Independence Avenue.

From the Independence Square, the avenue of the same name originates, although it previously changed its name 14 times. This is the central and largest highway of Minsk, a large-scale work of art and a keeper of memory. He remembers many politicians, writers, artists. Independence Avenue is the only example of such a long stretch of urban development, which managed to fully preserve the unity of form and style. The prospectus applied for inclusion in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

- Freedom Square.

Not every city boasts 2 centers - the Belarusian capital is lucky here. In addition to the modern center with the Government House, the historical center with the symbol of city self-government - the town hall has been preserved. The elegant streets surrounding it with bizarre lines of houses, medieval temples and monasteries - all this gives Liberty Square a special unique flavor. From all over the city, not only tourists, but also locals flock here to feel the spirit of antiquity and enjoy the live music of the streets.

- Minsk Castle -

A small hill on the Svislochi embankment, as well as a model of the foundation of the first city temple in natural velechina - this is perhaps all that today reminds of a medieval fortress. According to one version, the ancient Mensk was founded here, which was built at the confluence of two rivers and surrounded by an earthen rampart. Anyway, the place is picturesque and covered with legends and attachments.

- Trinity suburb.

At the beginning of the XVI century, on a hill that towered over Svisloch, the Trinity Monastery with a church was erected. A residential quarter was formed around them, which was called Trinity. Time has preserved for us the Trinity suburb with its colorful houses and quiet picturesque streets. Today it is a monument of architecture and culture of international importance. Stylized coffee houses and museums take us a moment back to the sixteenth century, where a great history is written day by day.

- An island of courage and sorrow

At the entrance is a large boulder with a walled icon. Under the icon is the text: “To the sons who died in Afghanistan, this temple was erected.” There shall be no evil in one's own land or in another's. And a black chapel with a bell and a weeping guardian angel. It is a place of remembrance and sorrow for 3,000 Belarusian children who, by the will of fate, became internationalist warriors and died in a mountainous wild region. This is the Island of Courage and Grief, the Island of Tears.

- Sport complex Minsk-Arena -

It is often said that “white and blue are the strongest.” The home arena of HC "Dynamo" and one of the most modern buildings in Europe, for international sports, cultural and entertainment events - Multifunctional cultural and sports complex "Minsk Arena". Architect Valery Kutsko created a unique monument of modern architecture - high-tech style. With its beauty, design and functionality, the arena surpasses all previous sports facilities in Belarus. Since 2010, it has become a venue for many world-famous sports competitions and the largest concert venue. Nearby is the alley of Sports Glory and the stele "Triumph".

- National Library of Belarus -

“The lover of the book, Bo Yana – the Krynytsa murasci, Veda and navuki, leki for the soul” – the Belarusian first printer Francis Skaryna recommended to us. It will meet you at the main entrance to the National Library of Belarus. It became not only a repository of all kinds of books, but also a monument of modern architecture. Visitors from different cities and countries of the world come to see it. And it is crowned by an open observation deck, where you can look at Minsk from a height of 73 meters - excellent views will open to you both in the daytime and in the evening. If you wish, you can visit it at the end of the tour.
