Palace of the Republic

Republic of Belarus, Minsk, October Square,1

Description:

One of the attractions of Minsk is the Palace of the Republic, located near the October Square. It gives contradictory impressions. To some it will seem sublime and majestic, to someone - a flat concrete sarcophagus. Therefore, it is best to see the Palace of Republics at night, when it is illuminated in a soft orange color.

The construction of the building took 15 years, and financing was carried out, as is often the case in Belarus, voluntarily using the population funds. The palace has a large and small auditorium, very similar to the Kremlin Palace of Congresses, a conference hall, several cafes, a bar, billiards and an art gallery.

If the outside of the building is not particularly impressive, then inside you waiting for a huge amount of greenery, leather furniture, luxurious mirrors and chandeliers. All the most significant national events with the participation of the President, concerts and performances are held in these halls.

Traditionally, the Christmas tree is held here, as well as other national holidays - Victory Day, Independence Day and others. Getting inside is almost impossible. To do this, you need a ticket to some inside event or exhibition.
