Temple-monument in honor of All Saints

ooh Kalinovsky 121, Minsk, Belarus

Description:

The temple-monument in honor of All Saints and in memory of the innocently murdered in our Fatherland, or the All-Holy Church, is one of the most picturesque and expressive religious buildings in Minsk, built in recent times. The first stone in the foundation of the church-monument was laid in 1991 by His Holiness Patriarch Alexy II of Moscow and All Russia, and construction began in the summer of 2006.

The temple-monument in honor of All Saints has already won the glory of the most modern and unique temple. Firstly, due to its dimensions - having a height of 74 meters, it ranks second after the Cathedral of Christ the Savior among the highest temples in the CIS countries. This is the first memorial church in Belarus and the only one so far. The project is truly unique, having no analogues in the world - 504 niches should be gradually filled with crystal containers with earth particles from those places where Belarusian blood was shed.

In July 2010, in the crypt of the temple, a ceremony was held to bury the remains of unknown soldiers who died in those wars - the Patriotic War of 1812, the First World War, and the Great Patriotic War. In the construction of the crypt, a combination of granite, marble, onyx was used. According to the authors, these materials are designed to create a sense of eternity.
