Yakub Kolas Square

Belarus, Minsk, Independence Avenue.

Description:

The station of the Moscow line "Yakub Kolas Square" is part of the Minsk metro and separates the stations "Victory Square" and "Academy of Sciences". Passenger traffic on average per day is 65.9 thousand people (2nd place by load).

The opening of the 1st stage of the Minsk metro took place on June 26, 1984.

The design of the column consists of precast reinforced concrete elements. The design is based on the folk art of Belarus. The coating of the structure used a prefabricated decorative element of reinforced concrete with inclined ribs, which is associated with roof rafters used since ancient times in folk architecture. For the cladding of the columns of the apron hall, golden ceramics with stylized images of folk ornament were used. The same ceramics are present on the panel, located above the descents from the cash register halls of the lobby to the apron hall.

Exits lead to Yakub Kolas Square, the Belarusian State Philharmonic, the square and TSUM.
