Winners' prospectus

pr. Winners, Minsk, Belarus

Description:

Winners Avenue, formerly known as Park Highway and Manasherov Avenue, is one of the most important city streets that largely determines the appearance of Minsk. The avenue stretches for 9 kilometers and victoriously pierces the entire Belarusian capital, being one of the main arteries of the urban organism.

The architectural appearance of the avenue was formed from the mid-1960s. Then its middle was decorated with a magnificent chestnut boulevard (which was reflected in the then name Park Highway). It was designed as the second main highway of the city, running along the water-green diameter.

Of course, special attention was paid to its construction. There are almost no old houses with more than a century of history here. Like almost the whole city, the Avenue Winners has a modern look. Notable construction sites include the Sports Palace, the Book House, the Children’s Philharmonic, the Minsk Hero City stele and the magnificent Victory Park. Very close to the avenue is the bed of Svislochi, where the famous landmark "Island of Tears" is located. Also interesting is a kind of museum Minsk Castle, referring citizens to the origins of their city.

Being such an important urban area, the Avenue of Winners did not freeze in one, forever fixed image. It develops dynamically and acquires new dynamic, modern and beautiful features.
