Monument to the heroes of the Patriotic War of 1812

The monument dedicated to the heroes of the Patriotic War of 1812 was approved in August 2009 at a meeting of the Council for Monumental, Decorative and Monumental Art. The sculpture was erected in the center of Polotsk in December 2009 on Freedom Square.
The brigade of the Polotsk plant Technolit-Polotsk was engaged in casting all cast-iron parts, and casting medals, eagles, one large and 8 small domes - Minsk Sculpture Plant. In 2010, the monument was consecrated by Archbishop Theodosius. The total weight of the monument is 110 tons, and the total height of the composition is 23.77 meters.
On the sculpture you can observe a unique image with the faces of the holy martyrs Bacchus and Sergius, whose memory is celebrated by the Orthodox Church on October 7, the day of the assault on Polotsk.
