Bus station Novopolotsk
Description:
The city of Novopolotsk appeared relatively recently, in 1963, on the basis of the village of Polotsky, which arose only 5 years before. At a distance of 110 km from it is the regional center of Vitebsk, and 250 km - the capital of Belarus Minsk. There is no railway connection in the city, so the Novopolotsk bus station is the only station in the city.
Bus station was built in 1977 and it has everything you need: a waiting room, storage rooms, a pharmacy, a newsstand. For those who want to eat, there is a cafe. Opening hours of the bus station: 05:00 - 21:00
By Belarusian standards, Novopolotsk is considered a rather large industrial city, with a population of 105648 people. However, the building of the bus station and adjacent territories are in an extremely neglected state. The building itself needs a radical reconstruction, the road to it is broken and replete with pits.
The management of the bus station is trying to save the situation on its own: the pits are periodically covered with sand mixed with gravel, but in general this does not save the situation. The reconstruction project was developed in 2009 and even approved in all instances, but due to lack of funding, the work has not yet begun.
