Fountain in Mayakovsky Square

ooh Lenina, Vitebsk, Belarus

Description:

In Mayakovsky Square, nothing is so fascinating as a fountain erected in the second half of the XIX century. During the war, the fountain was destroyed. But over time he resumed his work.

It is not large in size and resembles a closed flower bud, along the contour of which water flows in small streams. The central pool is quite interesting shape, and around is covered with stone.

The upper part has a domed shape. Near the fountain, in the square there are benches on which the visitor can admire the melodic ringing of drops.

Especially, the fountain attracts in the evening and at night. Soft evening light turns the fountain into an unusual performance with iridescent splashes of water and various shades of reflected light.
