The Khatyn Memorial Complex – Mound of Glory. Our history and pain

The memorial complex “Khatyn” is a monument to the victims of Nazism, and also glorifies the courage of the Belarusian people, who, despite huge sacrifices, did not submit to the enemy, but survived all the trials. Few places in the world there is such a thoughtful, tense silence as in Khatyn, only the rustle of steps on concrete paths, only the deaf beats of bells. Grievous silence... She hides in herself and the roar of fierce fire, and the crying of children, and the desperate cries of mothers, and the angry curses of men dying in the flames. In harsh and concise language, the memorial tells about the courage and insubordination of the Belarusian people.

The heroic resistance of the population of the republic with the help of the Soviet Army was crowned with success and the complete liberation of our territory from the invaders. And in honor of this significant event, on July 5, 1969, a man-made hill was created - the Mound of Glory, the ascent of which is a symbolic tribute to our ancestors who laid their lives on the altar of victory.
