La Paz

Museum of Anthropology and History

Ignacio Altamirano and Cinco de Mayo, La Paz, Mexico

About the company:

This museum is quite small, represented by only 4 halls: the hall of culture of ancient Mayan Indians, the hall of cave paintings, historical and anthropological halls.

The Maya exhibition has descriptions in English and Spanish in other halls, with a guide running the explanation in Spanish.

The historical hall of the museum is the most diverse. It gives a good idea of the Mexican-American War.

There are many interesting and well-preserved artifacts found throughout Southern Baja California.

In the hall of cave paintings there are dioramas about the life of Mexican Indians.

The museum also has excellent exhibits on the geology of the peninsula, its geography, plants and animals.
