Catholic Christmas

Description:

Prepare for the holiday in advance...
Every year on December 25 in Catholic countries celebrates Christmas, which is one of the main holidays of the year. And Brazil is no exception.

Christmas is prepared long before the holiday itself; already two months in shopping centers there are decorated Christmas trees (a arvore de Natal), and Christmas decorations begin to be sold.
Then a huge amount of illumination appears on the streets, which makes the evening look like a day.

For several years in a row, a huge metal floating tree has been installed in Rio de Janeiro. Several thousand people are gathered for its opening.

Christmas is more lavish than the New Year, and it is at Christmas that the Brazilian Santa Claus - Papai Noel - brings gifts to children.

On the festive table, as a rule, you can see turkey or baked pork seasoned with cloves, rice, beans, palmite pie (the heart of the palm tree).

Brazilians revere this bright holiday, usually held in the family circle.
