Don Frei Caetano Brandao Square

Don Frei Caetano Brandao Square, which is home to several of Belem’s famous attractions, is included in most of the city’s sightseeing programs.

The square is located in the Old Town area of Belem and is an important landmark of the city, as it is the foundation site of Belem do Para.

At first, the square was called Largo da Se, but later it was renamed in honor of the 4th bishop of the city, Don Frei Caetano Brandao. In the center of the square is a monument to Don Frey Caetano Brandao.

The square is part of the famous architectural complex Belem - Felice Lusitania.

On the square are the Fort of the Nativity, the Cathedral of Belem, the House of Eleven Windows and the Church of Santo Alejandre.
