Ponta de Pedras Beach
Description:
The beach of Ponta de Pedras is a lonely desert beach that begins next to the beach of Porto de Sima. On its territory there are no cafes or restaurants - it is a quiet oasis for lovers of deserted beaches and privacy. Only the local yacht club moored their boats here.
The beach is surrounded by native tropical forests, and in the water natural rocks form pools. They are formed depending on the tide.
This beach is not very popular with tourists, as it is rather a transition to Gamboa, and not an independent beach. If you swim in the direction of Gamboa, you can find encosta de argila (red mud), which is famous for its beneficial properties for the skin. The waves here are small, but sometimes a lot of algae is carried ashore. The beach itself is completely covered with sand, and dense vegetation is located along the coastline.
