About the company:

The Cirio de Nazaré Museum is a museum dedicated to one of Brazil’s largest religious events.

Since 1793, Cirio de Nazaré has been celebrated annually in Brazil on every second Sunday in October. According to legend, the statue of Nazareth of Galilee was known for performing miracles in Portugal for several hundred years, after which it was lost, and then found in Brazil, where it was worshipped.

During the celebration of Cirio de Nazaré, the statue of Nossa Señora de Nazaré is moved from Icoaraki to Belem. The procession lasts 5 hours and is accompanied by traditional music and dance.

The Cirio de Nazaré Museum reflects the significance of the holiday for the people of Para. It contains documents, photographs and other exhibits related to this solemn event.
