Palace of the National Congress of Brazil
Praca dos 3 Poderes - Brasí lia - DF, 70160-900, Brazil
Description:
The Pal Cio do Congresso Nacional is located in Brasilia. The author of the construction project, which was erected in 1960, is the outstanding Oscar Niemeyer. The unique form of the famous building is designed by the architect to symbolize the bicameral parliament of the country.
The building is a parallelepiped with two hemispheres - a dome and a bowl, between which 2 skyscrapers with a height of about 100 meters rise parallel to each other, which have become the "calling card" of the new capital. Under the dome are the halls of the Federal Senate, under the bowl - the Chamber of Deputies. The buildings of the palace complex are connected by underground tunnels.
