The Princess House Museum

Rua da Cadeia, 270 | Centro, Santa Terezinha de Goias, State of Goias, Brazil

About the company:

The Princess House Museum is one of the oldest museums in Brazil. The magnificent ancient architecture of the museum is the most significant remnant of the colonial period in Pilar de Goias. The museum was opened on June 28, 1981. It features historical documents, photographs and more than seven million objects made of various materials. All of them show the way of life of people of the XVIII century.

Furniture and utensils used by priests are also on display. The museum’s collection of colonial-era torture instruments is particularly striking. These include a special chair with spikes, a gallows coil and many other objects. Visiting the museum, you can learn many interesting facts of the colonial era that were previously unknown.
