Rua Aracandiva, 401, Campinas - Sã o Paulo, 13098-376, Brazil
Description:
Vila Antiga, translated as “Old City”, combines culture, leisure and education within a single space.
This project of the Development Fund was aimed at high-quality pedagogical training of teachers and educators in preschool institutions, holding a wide range of children and adults cultural and educational events.
The mission of the institution is to preserve and restore the culture of the past. The older generation ("grandparents") is always welcome to the Old Town as part of the experience transfer.
Attractions of the Old Town include the Ford Automobile Museum and the Estelarium Astronomical Observatory, which has one of the largest telescopes in Brazil. The observatory led by astronomer Julio Lobo is always open to interested students and other guests.
In addition, the Old Town has its own restaurant, offering guests dishes prepared in a wood-burning oven.
