Maringá

Chapel of the Holy Cross

R. Santa Joaquina de Vedruna, 303-425 - Zona 05, Maringa, Brazil

Description:

A simple wooden chapel was the first church to appear in Maringa. It was built in 1945-1946 with the active participation of local residents. By 1952, the chapel had become part of an architectural ensemble formed by Santa Cruz College.

The chapel of Santa Cruz is characterized by an almost ascetic simplicity, rigor and chastity, as if emphasizing the purity of thoughts coming here. It is included in the list of historical buildings of the city.

In the 90s of the 20th century, the chapel was restored.
