Church of Saint Gonzalo Garcia

Floriano Peixoto, s/n, Penedo, Brazil

Description:

The Church of St. Gonzalo Garcia is a typical Catholic structure of the colonial period. However, it is worth visiting as one of the oldest Brazilian buildings of its kind. Small but cozy building of the temple in architecture is close to the Gothic style. The temple has the traditional outlines of small churches in Brazil - a central hall framed by two modest towers with five spires each. The front above the main entrance to the church is crowned with a cross. The total height of the building is less than fifteen meters.

To become laconic architecture and interior decoration of the temple - without frills. White walls with small gilded accents on the faces of vaults and painted cult figures.
