Mirante da Boa Viagem, s/nº, Boa Viagem - Niteró i - RJ, 24210-390, Brazil
About the company:
The Museum of Modern Art in Niteroi is housed in the famous Art Nouveau architectural building built by Oscar Niemeyer. The building was built for 5 years and was completed in 1996.
In its appearance, the building resembles a flying saucer or an exotic plant on a thin leg. The width of the three-storey concrete smooth cylindrical building is 16 meters, and the diameter is 50 meters. It is worth noting that the diameter of the column on which the museum is installed is only 9 meters.
To get to the museum, you need to walk along a long spiral ramp. The visitor will enter a round art gallery with a panoramic window from which the statue of Christ and Sugar Head are visible.
The museum presents paintings of modern art - 1217 works. There are also frequent exhibitions of foreign and Brazilian artists.
