Kaatinga Zootanical Park

Av. Cardoso de Sa s/n, Petrolina, Brazil | Vila Eduardo

Description:

The Kaatinga Zootanical Park was created to preserve the flora and fauna of Kaatinga, the arid Brazilian savannah. The park was opened in 2007.

The park features about 30 species of vegetation and 21 species of animals. The park is dominated by short trees that lose their leaves during drought. The surface of the earth is covered by cacti, dry-resistant grasses, prickly shrubs, succulents, as well as annual plants that grow and die during the rainy season. At this time, many plants bloom, which is quite unusual and beautiful.

You can visit the park from Monday to Sunday from 7:30 to 11:30, as well as from 13:30 to 16 hours. The entrance fee is $1.50 per person, excluding students in public schools.
