Copacabana fortress
Description:
Copacabana Fortress was built in 1914 to strengthen the defenses of Guanabara Bay. The thickness of the walls reaches 12 meters. The fortress is a monument to one of the most heroic episodes of Brazilian history – the uprising that marked the beginning of the Tenentist movement. On the territory of the fortress is the Historical Military Museum.
