The Olympic Park is a huge complex being built in honor of the Olympic Games, which will be held in Rio de Janeiro in 2016. The park with a total area of more than 300 acres will be built on the Grand Prix track.
The builders have developed an excellent program to protect the ecosystem of the park, especially its coastal zone. So, it will be located on a plot of 118 hectares, jutting into Guanabara Bay.
Now in the park there is a water center, a velodrome and a stadium. Within a few years, a hockey stadium, a villa, tennis courts, a treadmill, an arena, a hotel, as well as several buildings will be built here. There will also be a media center for 20,000 journalists, as well as the Olympic and Paralympic Villages.
