Planetarium

R. Vice-Governador Rubens Berardo 100, Gá vea, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Description:

Planetarium is the most popular scientific and educational attraction of Rio de Janeiro.

The planetarium in Rio de Janeiro was built in 1970, and for more than forty years it has delighted visitors with its beautiful space shows. A huge dome with a diameter of 23 meters is able to convey the most accurate map of the starry sky, which includes more than 9 thousand stars. At the same time, the number of spectators at the session can reach 300 people. Next to the large, there is a small dome, which is twice smaller, but the most modern digital equipment is able to display a higher-quality and rich picture.

The planetarium also has a Museum of the Universe, whose exhibits are visual aids on astronomy. And after sunset, you can admire the night sky of Rio through powerful telescopes.
